You can share your Instagram Stories exclusively with your Close Friends list by selecting the “Close Friends” option while creating a story. This allows you to share specific content with only those individuals you’ve added to your Close Friends list, offering a more private sharing experience on Instagram.
- First off all launch the Instagram app on your mobile device.
- Tap on your profile picture or your profile icon in the bottom right corner to access your profile.
- Look for the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner. Tap on it to open the side menu.
- Scroll down the menu options, and you should see an option called “Close Friends.” Tap on it.
- Here, you’ll find the list of users you’ve added to your Close Friends list.
This list is private and visible only to you. You can manage your Close Friends list by adding or removing users as desired.
How to Use the Instagram Close Friends Feature?
The Instagram Close Friends feature allows you to share your Stories with a selected group of people rather than your entire follower list.
Create a Close Friends Story:
Tap on your profile picture in the top-left corner of the home screen to create a new Story.
Capture a photo or video, or select one from your camera roll.
After customizing your content, tap the “Close Friends” label at the bottom of the screen.
It might be a green circle with a white star. This will limit the visibility of the Story to only those on your Close Friends list.
Share the Close Friends Story:
Once you’ve added the Close Friends label, tap “Your Story” to share the content.
It will only be visible to those on your Close Friends list.
Viewing Close Friends’ Stories:
When someone adds you to their Close Friends list and shares a Story with their Close Friends, you’ll see a green badge around their profile picture in the Stories tray, indicating it’s a Close Friends story.
You can view Close Friends’ Stories by tapping on their profile picture with the green badge, allowing you to see the content shared exclusively with this group.
How to Post a Story Only for Your List?
To post a Story exclusively for your Close Friends list on Instagram, follow these steps using the Instagram mobile app:
- Log in to Instagram.
- Tap on your profile picture in the top-left corner of the home screen to create a new Story.
- Capture a photo or video, or choose an existing photo or video from your device’s camera roll.
- Edit your photo or video as desired by adding text, stickers, drawings, or other elements
- Once you’ve customized your Story, locate the “Send To” or “Your Story” button at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on the “Close Friends” label icon with a white star. This option restricts the Story to only be visible to users on your Close Friends list.
- After selecting “Close Friends,” tap “Your Story” to share the content. It will now be visible exclusively to those on your Close Friends list.
